The Tutoring Center, Kansas City MO

Congratulations to Miss Cari Williams, nominated by her student, Lilly, for being selected as this month’s TTC Person of Influence! Miss Williams teaches 5th grade at Lewis and Clark Elementary School in Liberty. Lilly nominated Miss Williams because she is “the nicest teacher in the world.”

Miss Williams didn’t originally go to Missouri State to become a teacher. However, after working as a camp counselor during the summer of her sophomore year, she realized she loved working with kids. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. She has many favorite things about being a teacher, but a major one is seeing her students grow. “When that lightbulb comes on for them, it’s rewarding for the student and myself,” she said.

Miss Williams and her fiancé, Nathan, have two dogs, Hosmer and Mojo. They love cheering on Kansas City teams and eating at local restaurants. Miss Williams is a big fan of Mexican food, especially at Rancho Grande, but she also enjoys Q39 and Nicky’s Pizza. She’s looking forward to visiting the Pacific Northwest next summer for her honeymoon.

Thank you, Miss Williams, for all you do to enrich the lives of our children!
