Congratulations to Mrs. Katelynn Gore, nominated by Canaan Miller, for being selected as this month’s TTC Person of Influence! Mrs. Gore is a 2nd grade teacher at Hawthorn Elementary School in the Park Hill School District. Canaan nominated Mrs. Gore because “she’s nice, funny, and helps us with math. When it’s writing time, she helps us think of topics to write about.”

Mrs. Gore decided to become a teacher because she felt called to the profession since she was a little girl. She loves seeing the growth in each of her students, both personally and academically, as the year goes on. “It’s fun knowing that I was able to impact that kiddo’s life,” she said, “even if it is in small ways.” When asked what superpower she would pick, Mrs. Gore said she wishes she could take away pain and sadness from others. “I hate when I see a child who is sad or hurting in some way and there is nothing I can do to fix it,” she said.

Mrs. Gore has been married for nearly two years to her husband, Tyler. While they don’t currently have children or pets, they would love to get a dog. In her free time, Mrs. Gore spends time with friends and family, and you can often find her enjoying Mexican or Chinese food. She says she’s most influenced by her grandfather, who’s 95 and “is the strongest, most patient man” she has ever met.

Thank you, Mrs. Gore, for all you do to enrich the lives of our children!
