Congratulations to Ms. Amy Jo May, nominated by Corin Keuck, for being selected as this month’s TTC Person of Influence! Ms. May teaches 2nd grade at Manor Hill Elementary in the Liberty School District. Corin nominated Ms. May because “she helps me with math and reading. She is kind, sweet, and a great teacher.”

Married to her wonderful husband for 22 years, Ms. May has four daughters: one is a sophomore in college and the other three, triplets, are juniors in high school. They also have a beloved Cockapoo named Maggie. In her free time, Ms. May enjoys watching her daughters’ sporting activities, spending time outdoors, exploring nature, and reading books in her hammock. If she could travel anywhere, Ms. May would like to return to Jamaica, the place where she got married, to volunteer in the villages and schools.

Ms. May wanted to be a teacher ever since she was little. She would bring home worksheets and supplies from school so that she could teach her stuffed animals and younger sisters. One of Ms. May’s favorite things about being a teacher is seeing students become proud of themselves. She also enjoys building relationships with her students and watching them grow.

Her mother and father are Ms. May’s “People of Influence”. They have taught her that “if you work hard, you can do anything.” They have also shown her that “a little kindness goes a long way and to treat others, even strangers, with respect.”

Thank you, Ms. May, for all you do to enrich the lives of our children!
