The Tutoring Center, Kansas City MO

Congratulations to Ms. Susan Robinson, nominated by Azayla Drew, for being selected as this month’s TTC Person of Influence! Ms. Robinson teaches at Manor Hill Elementary in the Liberty School District. Azayla describes Ms. Robinson as “a great teacher” because she is “nice, polite, helpful, and loves reading to the class”.

Ms. Robinson became a teacher because she has always enjoyed learning and wanted to be able to share that with others. Reading aloud is her favorite time each day because she really enjoys bringing the words on a page to life. What she finds most rewarding about being a teacher is discovering ways to help a child who is struggling with a skill.

Ms. Robinson has two adult sons, ages 18 and 24, who were both heavily involved in Cub and Boy Scouts as they were growing up. Those activities were a huge part of her family life when they were younger. Ms. Robinson has two dogs: a Poodle-mix named Mindy and a Lab-mix, Tucker.

Some of Ms. Robinson’s favorite hobbies are reading and gardening for caterpillars. She usually raises a few Monarch caterpillars with her class each year. Ms. Robinson also enjoys traveling to Tucson, AZ each year to attend the Tucson Festival of Books.

Thank you, Ms. Robinson, for all you do to enrich the lives of our children!
